SSRC Check-in and giveaway #2

Well, we're officially on day eleven of the reading challenge. Are there any readers, like me, who haven't yet started?

I know, I know, I'm hosting the reading challenge but still haven't started reading. But I knew going in that I wouldn't get to read My Soul to Take until February. Hey, I still have time!

As you may have already known, or are just finding out now, Rachel Vincent's books in this series are one-sit-reads. I mean, they're impossible to put down. So I have absolutely no worries about finishing my first reading month with at least MSTTake read and reviewed.

But what about you? How are things going for you? Have you started reading yet? Are you getting nervous because you haven't begun?

And remember, don't worry. Just because you don't read any book this month doesn't mean you've failed the challenge. Even if you can't start until next month, or the month after that, you're still considered a challenge winner if you've read and reviewed or discussed even just one book in the series during the five months of the challenge.

So don't stress, don't panic! But if you want to share your thoughts again this week, I'd love to hear them.

And once again....

If you leave a comment with your thoughts on the challenge so far, and a way to get in touch - Twitter name, FB page, email or other - I will let Random choose one winner on Saturday night at 10 p.m. Pacific for:

One copy of any of Rachel Vincent's books that I can order from Amazon or The Book Depository.

Yes, it's international. Yes, you have to be at least 13. And yes, if you choose one of the adult reads you need to be at least 18.

I will contact the winner for their book selection by whichever method they leave me to contact them and announce them here in this post on Sunday morning.

And the winner is....

... Smiling Ina! Congratulations. You are the winner of this week's check-in giveaway. I will be contacting you on Twitter for your details and book of your choice.

Thank you so much to everyone who shared their progress with the reads. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who's so behind, but it's also amazing to see how many readers are so far ahead and are loving the books!

Happy reading! We're two weeks into the challenge and it's awesome to see how many of you have already linked up your reviews!

  4. Hey! I just started My Soul To Take a few days ago and I love it so far, I think Nash is my new book crush but I'm super excited to meet Todd! I just feel that I can relate to Kaylee because of her thoughts when she's around Nash and they make me feel like a 16 year old girl again, they are so cute together! (: I'm trying to plan out my reading schedule in between these books...awesome challenge so far! (:

  10. I haven't even started yet. I'm kind of nervous about it, but I hope to get to them this weekend, and have the reviews done middle of next week. I can't wait to re-read them, just have other things that need to be finished up first.

  12. So far, I have read and reviewed "My Soul to Lose", and I'm over halfway done with "MSTTake". I wish I could finish a book in one sitting, but my little man would never allow that. LOL I'm hoping to have my "MSTTake" review/thoughts up the beginning of next week. :)

  13. I finished MSTLose & MSTTake and you're totally right, the books are the type of stories where you really don't put them down, you continuously read them b/c they are pretty non-stop and so easy to read. I read MSTT in 2 days and I'm not a particularly fast reader, either!

I am absolutely loving this challenge and you, Rachel, are doing such an awesome job on this. I have a couple of other challenges I'm waiting on discussion questions for, etc. and your challenge is so on the ball, full of info, and constantly going!! Thank you!!!!

Well, yeah, and I love the series!!!

  19. Don't worry Rachel, you're not alone. I haven't started either. And I was actually worried for a second there, because I'd forgotten that this challenge month ends somewhere in February and not at the end of this month.

Either way I'm sure I'll finish both MStL and MStT before the challenge month is over, since I can basically devour one of these books in less than a day.

Plus I have been wanting to re-read this series for a while and doing it with at least 150 other people is an opportunity I just can't pass up.

  31. I'm loving the challenge so far, especially for the goodreads groups. Is different to be able to discuss with other people what we think during a challenge. And since I've never read the series, it makes more fun to read with company.

  32. I have been trying to start re-reading My Soul To Lose and My Soul To Take for the last couple of days. I have read these ones a few times and am completely looking forward to them, but this time I want to give them my full attention. Between work and my various Mommy duties, I have not been able to fully dedicate myself. I hope to have both finished before bed on Saturday. Good luck to all!

  33. I actually already read and reviewed My Soul to Lose and My Soul to Take and can't wait to continue reading. My Soul to Save arrived today and I already want to continue reading - but I'll be strong and wait until Feb 15th... and well, I have to learn, but I had to do that when reading #0.5 and #1, too. :D

Thank you very much for this challenge and making me finally read this series. I really enjoyed the first book!
